The creation of a website is a fundamental step to spread the brand of one's own company and allow the increase of revenues obtained from its sales.

From the point of view of the organisation or structure of the contents, a website is typically structured in a main page (home page), which is the main page presenting the site and its contents, and the secondary web pages of the contents, which can be reached from the menus and widgets on the home page itself through internal links (anchors) to the site itself.
From the point of view of structure and technology used, websites can be summarily distinguished into two main types:

• static sites
• dynamic sites

Static websites made up of static pages have contents that can be read only and exclusively. They are usually updated very infrequently and are maintained by one or more people who act directly on the HTML code of the page (using special web editors). They are historically the first generation of websites.

Dynamic websites made up of dynamic web pages, on the other hand, have dynamically edited content (usually by linking to a database) and provide content that can vary according to several factors. These websites are characterised by a high level of interaction between site and user.
